Asleep
Apologies to anyone who tried to check the Poddle website in the last couple of days - there was an error in the background that has been fixed. Poddle is now wide awake, full of breakfast and is ready for the day!

The Business of January
Despite the lack of online activity, Poddle has been working away industriously for the last couple of months. The serious business of designing, editing and laying out ‘Small Lives’ has taken over, though I made sure to surface from time to time in December to attend some of Dublin’s fine craft fairs.
Poddle Publications very much enjoyed sharing a stall with Bare Hands Poetry and I Like Local* at Block T’s Christmas market. The ‘Poet’s Corner’ had many curious visitors and I managed to buy all my gifts in one place, so it was a very successful weekend.
Paper samples have been perused, methods of binding have been tested, and 2013 looks like it will be a great year for Poddle Publications. The shortest day has passed - every day from now on will be longer and brighter!
Exciting news! Poddle Publications has chosen the final pieces to go into our next book, ‘Small Lives’! Thank you so much to everyone who shared their hard work with us. This year saw a huge increase in submissions, at double the amount of last year. It is incredibly heartening to see so many creative people eager to get involved in a project like this. Thank you, as well, for your patience all along the way - this printing method, this book, is all about breathing. It’s about looking at things for longer. Time will go into putting it together - as much time as you have spent thinking, making and sharing with us.
I hope that you will enjoy seeing how it comes together over the coming months. The publication date will be in 2013, though it will not be early in the year! Every stage takes its time, like the seasons.
If, for some reason, you have not had a response from Poddle Publications regarding your submission, please email me immediately at poddlepublications@gmail.com. Otherwise, please keep an eye on this website, Facebook (Poddle Dublin) and Twitter (@poddlebook) for future updates!
With the start of September comes the end of open submissions to ‘Small Lives’. Thank you to everyone who sent in work! The next few weeks will be filled with lovely reading. To celebrate this ending, today I went to a letterpress workshop in the National Print Museum, where I fiddled with metal letters for hours. Here are the results!
